SUMMARY:BIPOC Nonprofit Professional Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Continue the conversation with your BIPOC nonprofit professional peers\, in-person for the first time ever!\n\n\n\nIn this casual roundtable gathering\, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences\, build collective knowledge\, and exchange ideas with your fellow BIPOC nonprofit professionals. \n\n \n\nWe will focus our discussion on the varying aspects and perspectives of fundraising and development. August is Black Philanthropy Month\, September 15-October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month\, and Labor Day unofficially kicks off gala season which leads into Giving Tuesday and end of year giving. Feels like the perfect time to discuss these topics through a BIPOC lens.\n\n \n\nOur time together will span two hours\, with thirty minutes of intentional networking from 1:00-1:30pm (bring your business cards and contact information)\, followed by ninety minutes of discussion in a panel format. Our panel spans many perspectives\, but is far from all-inclusive so we ask you to bring your perspective and lived experience to enrich our discussion.\n\n\n\nThis roundtable is intended for nonprofit professionals who identify as black\, indigenous\, and other people of color. We created these roundtables in response to feedback and numerous requests from our community. Nonprofit Connect works hard to incorporate diversity\, equity\, inclusion and belonging into all programming\, and we also believe it's important to provide intentional spaces for specific communities to share their lived experiences. \n\nPanelists:\n\n\n	Angela Cece a Brunner\, Director of Development & Communications\, Mattie Rhodes Center\n	Erik Dickinson\, President\, Urban Ranger Corps\n	Kerri Voyles\, Founder + Chief Brand Cultivator\, Flourish\n	Gene Willis\, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager\, GEHA\n	Sidney Smith\, Nonprofit Connect's Chief Operating Officer will moderate this discussion.\n\n\n\n\nSidney Smith serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Nonprofit Connect. In this role\, he serves a crucial function of helping to maintain and expand the goals of the organization while supporting our nonprofit members to achieve their missions and vision.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nYou!\n\nYour active participation is highly encouraged. No one has all of the solutions\, but everyone has something worth contributing. Your small group discussion participation will help others share\, grow\, and learn. Please come prepared to talk and engage in discussion. \n\nVenue information:\n\nThe Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has implemented a COVID-19 vaccination policy\, effective March 14\, for anyone entering the building ? staff\, visitors\, vendors\, and conference center attendees. Our objective is to support a work and convening environment that is as healthy and safe as possible. We?re taking this measure to support the health of those working and meeting at the Foundation as well as community health.\n\n \n\nEffective March 14\, 2022\, anyone entering the building must be ?fully vaccinated? against COVID-19 and must provide accurate proof of vaccination. The Kauffman Foundation is aligning with how the CDC defines ?fully vaccinated? which currently means the following:\n\n\n	Two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna\, or\n	One dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine\, and\n	Two weeks or longer after receiving requisite dose(s)\n\n \n\nThe Kauffman Foundation is requiring everyone to provide proof of vaccination (paper or digital) along with a valid photo ID for verification prior to entry. Acceptable proofs of vaccination include:\n\n\n	COVID-19 vaccination card\n	Medical records or immunization records from health care provider or pharmacy\n	Immunization records from public health\, state\, or tribal immunization information systems\n	Official documentation that contains the type of vaccine administered\, date of administration\, name\, and company/organization that administered the vaccination\n\n\nProgram Policies:\n\nNonprofit Connect may take photographs\, screenshots\, or video recordings at public and virtual events\, so we ask that you read our Privacy Policy for more information.\n\n\n\nSo that we can serve you better\, we want to understand who is in the room. You will be asked two demographics questions as you register for this event. We will never share your individual information\, and we will only report on demographics in aggregate. Any questions or comments? Contact us at info@npconnect.org.
