SUMMARY:Shine a Light - Benefitting Friends of Johnson County Mental Health Center
DESCRIPTION:Shine a Light is the primary annual fundraiser for Friends of Johnson County Mental Health Center. This year's event will be held at The Lodge at Ironwoods in Leawood. Funds raised at Shine a Light make up approximately 70% of our annual client assistance budget making it possible for Friends to support those with a variety of urgent needs including housing assistance\, food\, hygiene items\, medication\, pet boarding\, and more. This assistance makes it possible for clients to continue to focus on their recovery and treatment.\n\n\n\nApproximately 150 mental health partners\, advocates\, and professionals will attend Shine a Light. This year's event includes dinner and an awards ceremony recognizing a community health advocate as well as three mental health center employees who go beyond to support their clients and colleagues. In addition\, attendees will hear from Army veteran\, author\, and mental health advocate Benjamin Sledge.
