Job Description



The Volunteer Coordinator (role) is an important component of the overall management of the day-to-day operations of the Kansas City Center for Inclusion (KCCI) Community Center.


 

The Volunteer Coordinator is not a member of the Board of Directors, but may attend Board Meetings. The Volunteer Coordinator is not a paid employee of the KCCI organization. The role is fully volunteer-based.





GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES



The Volunteer Coordinator has a specific scope of authority. That authority is limited to the day-to-day functions of the KCCI Community Center, specifically:





  • Acts as main point of contact 4-5 days per week.




  • Assist Executive Director in the management of volunteers. recruit and maintain a properly trained staff of volunteers, to include managing the onboarding, training, and interviewing of Center Ambassadors




  • Scheduling of Volunteers to staff the Community Center during business hours.




  • Act as Center Ambassador in case of absences.




  • Assist in managing large group volunteer events such as at the Renaissance Festival.




  • Maintain volunteer contact data.




  • Run volunteer training and/or team building once a quarter.




  • Serve as Administrator on Center Ambassador Group.




  • Responsible for fostering an environment of respect and inclusion at the KCCI Community Center.




  • Responsible for continued efforts in the enhancement of the public image of KCCI and the KCCI Community Center.





Required Skills/Abilities





  • A personal motto of ethics, transparency, and high integrity.




  • Three or more years of nonprofit experience.




  • Solid, hands-on skills in analysis, decision-making, and reporting.




  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, volunteer development, and task facilitation.




  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer.




  • Strong written and oral communication skills and,




  • Strong public speaking ability.
