A non-profit that is dedicated to the craft of songwriting (regardless of genre) and establishing a strong, supportive and sustainable regional music industry. The mission is to empower the creation of song through education, collaboration and mentorship.
The idea for Heartland Song Network was born at the 2020 Folk Alliance International Conference in New Orleans. A group of like-minded people from a variety of backgrounds began meeting informally in Kansas City to articulate a vision and create a structure for elevating the art and craft of the song and songwriting (regardless of genre) in America’s Heartland (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa).
