About Us

Northland Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, and developmental disabilities through equine-assisted services. Located just outside of Kearney, Missouri, NTRC provides adaptive riding, groundwork-based programs, and unmounted activities that foster growth, independence, and connection.

Founded in 2000, NTRC serves children and adults from across the Kansas City metro area. Participants experience increased confidence, improved motor skills, emotional regulation, and a deepened sense of belonging—all through the transformative power of the horse-human connection.

Our programs are facilitated by highly qualified instructors, supported by a caring team of volunteers, and customized to meet the unique needs of each participant. Whether working toward therapeutic goals or simply enjoying the joy of time spent with horses, every session is a step toward greater self-efficacy and wellbeing.

We are PATH Intl. Premier Accredited and committed to safety, inclusivity, and excellence in everything we do.
