Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation

Since 2005, Richard Freiburghouse has been an integral part of the VFW Foundation, bringing over 30 years of nonprofit management experience. He provides fundraising guidance to VFW Posts, cultivates major and planned giving donors, writes grant proposals, and oversees vehicle donation and employee giving programs.

Richard holds a B.A. in industrial relations and political science from Rockhurst University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and is a Certified Grants Administrator.

Beyond the Foundation, he served on the Kansas City Metro Safe Cities Youth Violence Prevention Committee and was a special consultant to the U.S. State Department, assisting Kazakhstan in developing veteran charities.

Richard and his wife, Claudia, enjoy restoring their 1923 Dutch Colonial home in Kansas City. He is also a sports blogger, podcaster, and co-developer of the cult classic “Hughie Jennings EE-YAH! Baseball Game.”
