This spring Kansas City will join 17 regions across the country to celebrate Remake Learning Days Across America, known as the world’s largest open house of innovative learning.
Remake Learning Days-Kansas City, coordinated by KC STEM Alliance, will take place May 1-10 with a goal of offering families more than 100 fun and engaging learning events and activities across six learning themes: arts, science, technology, maker, outdoor learning and youth voice.
Schools, after-school programs, child care centers, public libraries, museums, universities and community groups of all types are encouraged to host Remake Learning Days events or activities.
These informal events or activities can be offered online, in person or as a hybrid where families pick up materials and use them to learn together at home. All events will be listed on the Remake Learning Days/Kansas City website so families can find fun ways to learn together right in their own neighborhoods or by the themes that interest them most. All kinds of events and activities are welcome—from simple art projects to coding a robot!
Mini grants of $250 are available from The DeBruce Foundation to help reduce barriers to hosting an event. Because Remake Learning Days strives to provide inclusive, exciting experiences to all learners, funding for high-need and/or marginalized communities will be prioritized when awarding mini grants.
