Position Summary: The licensed QMHP works in a team environment and demonstrates collaboration, a high level of clinical leadership and independent practice. Provides an advanced level of mental health treatment in both individual and group settings. Treatment is provided based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. This position develops treatment strategies to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, including children and young adults and is expected to interface with both internal and external treatment providers. Trauma informed services are required. Our QMHP will follow a strengths-based model that will help develop and build skills that will help the child and family function autonomously and successfully.
This position will also help in developing this new program expansion of mental health counseling. That will include establishing relationships within the community. Opportunity for growth of this program will include development of a counseling center facility and the appropriate staff to offer a variety of counseling resources.
Essential Job Functions:
- Comply with all state, regulatory and HPC requirements for quality participant care, confidentiality and privacy
- Provide counseling services and diagnose if psychiatrist involvement is needed
- Coordinate additional community services and make appropriate referrals
- Create partnerships with other mental health professionals
- Develop partnership with a telehealth psychiatrist as needed
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate, complete, and well-organized participant records
- Provide crisis intervention/support services to participants

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The hours are flexible.
Actual work hours will vary depending on the needs of program participants.
Travel
Travel up to 10% is expected for this position, all local in the Kansas City Metro area.
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or above in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy or closely related field with experience in trauma informed counseling.
- Missouri Licensed as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the process of psychiatric diagnosis.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment and have basic research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Must have organizational and leadership skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate good independent judgment, adapt to new duties, and work in a changing environment with individuals from various walks of life.
- Comfortable with outreach and building partnerships
- Program development experience a plus as this is a new offering
- Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment.
