Presenter: Patrick M. Rooney, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University
This is the second event of the 501 (c) Success National Speaker Series.
This program coincides with the national release of the 2013 Giving USA: The Annual Report on Philanthropy. As the longest running annual report on the sources and uses of U.S. charitable giving, it provides fundraisers, nonprofit leaders, donors, volunteers and other individuals who work in or with the charitable sector with the most comprehensive charitable giving data available. Dr. Rooney offers a first look at the new report and provides critical observations about current trends and where philanthropy is headed in the United States.
Rooney is a nationally recognized expert on philanthropy and charitable giving. He speaks frequently across the country on issues related to philanthropy and management of nonprofit organizations and has been quoted by national news media outlets such as PBS’s Nightly Business Report, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and USA Today.
501(c) Success National Speaker Series brings prominent thought leaders to Kansas City to discuss latest sector research and trends. Over the course of the year, four nationally recognized experts address cutting-edge issues, explore best practices and provide critical insights for increased positive social impact. This is an outstanding opportunity for the Kansas City community to meet and engage with exceptional nonprofit leaders right here in our own backyard.
