The Pilgrim Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) that is focused on community-building in Kansas City, Missouri. Our events include the Spring Frolic on Easter Sunday, the month-long Film Festival in June, the Pilgrim Run 5K on Thanksgiving Day, and regular maintenance of the Pilgrim Labyrinth and Butterfly Garden. The bus assistant and driver work as a team to provide safe, supervised group transportation for our Breaktime Club bus route. Groundhog Run benefiting the children of Ability KC has raised more than $4.75 million for children with special needs since its inception in 1982. In January of 2018, nearly 4,000 runners filled the tunnels of Hunt Midwest SubTropolis to support the children of Ability KC. In 2019, Ability KC is looking for 200 volunteers to help host the generous runners of Kansas City. Volunteer opportunities run from Friday January 25th throughout race day on January 27th.
