The Board’s Role in Fundraising
Fundraising is one of a nonprofit board’s most basic and important responsibilities, relating directly to the financial sustainability of the organization. Yet the volunteer leaders who are among the critical drivers of fundraising success often find themselves without clear direction. Our speaker, Patricia "Trish" Jackson, has over 30 years of advancement experience at a wide variety of nationally-ranked higher education institutions. She’ll discuss the principles and practices of highly effective board fundraisers and offer suggestions on how to leverage your board’s efforts more fully and meaningfully in the fundraising arena.
Trish currently serves as Chief of Staff, Advancement Division at Dartmouth College. Previously she served as the executive director of college and foundation partnerships at the Fullbridge Program in Cambridge, Mass. She is also a former vice president for development at Smith College and former associate vice president for individual and organizational giving at Dartmouth College.
501(c) Success National Speaker Series brings prominent thought leaders to Kansas City to discuss latest sector research and trends. Over the course of the year, nationally recognized experts address cutting-edge issues, explore best practices and provide critical insights for increased positive social impact. This is an outstanding opportunity for the Kansas City community to meet and engage with exceptional nonprofit leaders right here in our own backyard.
