BIPOC Nonprofit Professional Roundtable

Continue the conversation with your BIPOC nonprofit professional peers, in-person for the first time ever!

In this casual roundtable gathering, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences, build collective knowledge, and exchange ideas with your fellow BIPOC nonprofit professionals. 
 
We will focus our discussion on the varying aspects and perspectives of fundraising and development. August is Black Philanthropy Month, September 15-October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Labor Day unofficially kicks off gala season which leads into Giving Tuesday and end of year giving. Feels like the perfect time to discuss these topics through a BIPOC lens.
 
Our time together will span two hours, with thirty minutes of intentional networking from 1:00-1:30pm (bring your business cards and contact information), followed by ninety minutes of discussion in a panel format. Our panel spans many perspectives, but is far from all-inclusive so we ask you to bring your perspective and lived experience to enrich our discussion.

This roundtable is intended for nonprofit professionals who identify as black, indigenous, and other people of color. We created these roundtables in response to feedback and numerous requests from our community. Nonprofit Connect works hard to incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into all programming, and we also believe it's important to provide intentional spaces for specific communities to share their lived experiences.

Sidney Smith serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Nonprofit Connect. In this role, he serves a crucial function of helping to maintain and expand the goals of the organization while supporting our nonprofit members to achieve their missions and vision.

Venue information:

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has implemented a COVID-19 vaccination policy, effective March 14, for anyone entering the building ? staff, visitors, vendors, and conference center attendees. Our objective is to support a work and convening environment that is as healthy and safe as possible. We?re taking this measure to support the health of those working and meeting at the Foundation as well as community health.
 
Effective March 14, 2022, anyone entering the building must be ?fully vaccinated? against COVID-19 and must provide accurate proof of vaccination. The Kauffman Foundation is aligning with how the CDC defines ?fully vaccinated? which currently means the following:

• Two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or
• One dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and
• Two weeks or longer after receiving requisite dose(s)

• COVID-19 vaccination card
• Medical records or immunization records from health care provider or pharmacy
• Immunization records from public health, state, or tribal immunization information systems
• Official documentation that contains the type of vaccine administered, date of administration, name, and company/organization that administered the vaccination
