Are you considering serving on a nonprofit board?
or
Are you relatively new to board service?
Most would agree that serving on a board is an excellent way to have a substantial and ongoing impact in your community. It's also an effective way to grow your professional network, develop leadership skills and share your expertise.
This two-part series explores the nuts and bolts of what it means to be a part of a nonprofit board. We encourage you to attend both sessions, however, it is not required.
The fundamental nonprofit governance concepts to be covered are:
• board structure and practices
• roles and responsibilities of board members
• financial and legal issues
• board vitality and sustainability
• finding meaningful board opportunities
Our skilled presenter, Carol Suter, is a well-known, experienced nonprofit consultant, executive, and board member. She is also a current council member and former mayor of the City of Gladstone MO.
