Let's Connect: Career Networking with Sara Swearingen

Let's Connect: Career Networking with Sara Swearingen

There is no straight path to a dream job. Whether you’re looking to snag a job at an organization where you already volunteer or you’re eager to switch career paths entirely, networking with others will help you learn what options are out there.

Join Sara Swearingen, Program Manager at Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City, to hear her experience transitioning from the for-profit to nonprofit sector and how she turned her volunteer experience into a full-time dream job. In this session, she will cover non-traditional career path to nonprofit sector, career networking, and everyday networking tips.

Then, we’ll use breakout rooms to facilitate small group discussions. You will have the opportunity to brainstorm together, exchange ideas, and gain new insight from your nonprofit peers. This session is ideal for anyone who wants to learn to build their professional networking or is thinking about shifting careers.

This is a program of the Let's Connect: Virtual Discussion Series.

Speakers:

Sara Swearingen is a Program Manager for Junior Achievement. She started volunteering with JA 4 or 5 years ago. She loved the mission of the organization. Two years ago, she started working part time for JA. Last year she started full-time in her current position. Before JA, she worked in Accounting, Sales, and PreK Education for various companies in KC.

You!
Your active participation is highly encouraged. No one has all of the solutions, but everyone has something worth contributing. Your small group discussion participation will help others share, grow, and learn.
