Every nonprofit should be measuring progress in fulfilling its mission, success in mobilizing resources, as well as programs used to accomplish the mission. These metrics, tracked over time, provide nonprofit leaders with useful tools to measure operating performance and evaluate progress toward organizational goals. Used properly, they can help tell an organization where it has been; where it is heading; whether something is going wrong; and when it is time to adjust.
At this session, you’ll gain a basic understanding of the types and characteristics of metrics used to measure and evaluate performance. Presenters Mark Shuster, CFO, Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, and Tondee Lutterman, Partner, BKD, LLP, will share examples of effective metrics they have seen used in a variety of nonprofits. Bring your questions and your own examples of metrics that have been useful. You’ll leave with resource materials and a solid grasp of creating and managing metrics for your own organization.
