Mission meets Democracy: Making a Plan for Nonprofit Voter Engagement

This session is for nonprofit leadership, staff, or volunteers who have committed to doing voter engagement in the next year or two. The training will walk through the steps an organization needs to take to start or grow a nonpartisan voter engagement initiative. No matter whether you plan to start small and simple or you have big ideas and capacity, this training will help attendees put those ideas into an action plan. The plan will include talking points and strategies to answer questions and gain investment from leadership and board, resources for learning the election laws in your state, and a template timeline for integrating voter engagement activities into the work you are already doing. Participants will leave the training with a draft plan for voter engagement at their organization.
 

Her most recent professional experience has focused on LGBTQ+ education and advocacy at the local, state, and national level at both Equality Ohio and The Trevor Project. She is excited to bring her community organizing and training background to strengthen the existing training and partnership opportunities at Nonprofit VOTE and make our democracy more accessible to all.

Raised in the Atlanta area, she lived the past 13 years in Ohio, primarily Cleveland, and has just settled back in the Southeast with her wife and family.
