Sector Discussion: The Role of Nonprofits in Society - Client-Centered Service or Donor-Driven Goals

This roundtable will bring together emerging nonprofit professionals to engage in a thoughtful, led discussion on the purpose of nonprofits in society. Participants from various perspectives — nonprofit leadership, clients, donors, and program evaluators — will examine the balance between client needs and donor expectations, the importance of nonprofits regularly assessing their missions, and how organizations can stay grounded in truly serving the public good.

Collaborative Discussion & Brainstorming Lab (45 minutes)

 • Guided discussion questions provided on tables

 • Participants share challenges and perspectives from their own  work

 • Optional mini breakouts or side conversations encouraged as needed

Harvesting Ideas & Next Steps (10 minutes)

 • Groups share takeaways and insights from their discussions

 • Exchange contacts and set follow-up commitments to keep ideas moving forward
