Now Welcoming Community Reviewers to the Metro's Largest Neighborhood Grant Fund

Offer Valid: 03/23/2026 - 03/30/2026
community; grant; review; funding; development

Community Capital Fund is seeking volunteers to serve as Community Reviewers for the 2026 Neighborhoods Rising Fund grant cycle. Reviewers read and score submitted applications, providing feedback that helps CCF identify community needs and project trends across the Kansas City metro area. This is a 5-hour commitment over a two-week period in April 2026.

What you'll do:

  • Review and score a set of NRF grant applications using a provided rubric
  • Share your perspective on proposed neighborhood projects and their potential community impact

Why it matters: The Neighborhoods Rising Fund provides one-year grants of up to $7,500 and two-year grants of up to $15,000 for high-impact, neighborhood-led projects in Clay and Jackson Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. Past funded projects have included public safety and cleanup initiatives, property and public space improvements, and identity-building and resource-sharing events. Your review helps ensure these investments reflect real community priorities.

Who should volunteer: You don't need prior grant review experience — just a connection to Kansas City neighborhoods and an interest in how communities invest in themselves.
