Founding Board Chair Opportunity | The Dogwood House

The Dogwood House is seeking an experienced Board Chair to help lead our founding Board of Directors as we establish a strong governance foundation for a Christ-centered nonprofit serving women who have survived sex trafficking and exploitation.

As a newly established 501(c)(3), we're looking for someone who is passionate about servant leadership and excited about helping build an organization that will serve Kansas City for years to come.

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous nonprofit board experience (Board Chair or officer experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibilities
• Strategic leadership and sound decision-making skills
• A collaborative leadership style with a heart for mentoring and developing a founding board
• A commitment to our Christ-centered mission and values

The Board Chair will:

• Lead Board and Executive Committee meetings
• Partner closely with the Founder & Executive Director
• Help establish effective governance practices
• Foster a healthy, engaged, and mission-focused board culture
• Provide strategic guidance as The Dogwood House grows
