Volunteer Opportunities

We house the toy and doll collection of Mary Harris Francis and the fine-scale miniatures of Barbara Marshall. Located in the Historic Tureman mansion, the museum was founded in the early 1980s and has been brought to national prominence in recent years. Our professional staff is looking to collaborate with volunteers to provide a delightful and informative experience to museum-goers.

Many volunteers are needed for this event and we truly appreciate your time and effort to work with our young people through the iBuild Showcase. We need volunteers who are willing to act as judges for Institute for Shaping the Built Environment, Superintendents to monitor exhibitor stations, Bus volunteers to assist with loading and unloading activities, and volunteers to assist with miscellaneous efforts.

Monitor museum galleries and ensure a safe experience for visitors by enforcing Rabbit hOle rules and policies.

Seeking a dedicated volunteer to coordinate our annual fundraising walk! Responsibilities include event planning, team recruitment, sponsorship outreach, and logistics management. Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about mental health advocacy. Help us create a successful, impactful event that raises awareness and funds for NAMI Greater Kansas City. Flexible hours; great opportunity to make a difference!

Reach Out and Read KC is the only medically-based, pediatric literacy program in the greater Kansas City area.
