The KC Blind All-Stars Foundation is seeking a contract bookkeeper for approximately 20 hours per month. Must specialize in nonprofit accounting.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile fund balances and accounts
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for leadership and board review
Track restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donations
Assist with annual organization budget development and monthly monitoring
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting practices and IRS regulations and prepare annual reporting paperwork
Maintain organized digital financial records
Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (nonprofit experience necessary)
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and/or Bloomerang)
Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
