Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or related roles (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management software NetSuite, Raiser’s Edge, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Position requires use of a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement. Valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Fundraising Support:
- Assist in the creation and execution of fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and peer-to-peer efforts.
- Manage and track donations, including acknowledgment letters, thank-you notes, and receipts.
- Coordinate fundraising events, including logistics, vendor management, and donor outreach.
- Prepare and manage donor communications, including newsletters, and email blasts.
Donor Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective, new and existing donors, including volunteers and JVS alums.
- Track donor activity and create strategies to retain donors and increase their giving levels.
- Assist with the creation of major donor cultivation strategies, including personal outreach and stewardship.
- Liaise with JVS Young Professionals Board.
Database Management:
- Maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor information.
- Generate reports for leadership regarding fundraising progress, donor engagement, and revenue projections.
- Manage acknowledgment and recognition of all donations.
- Collaborate with Grants Manager to ensure calendaring of grant submissions and reports.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile monthly and quarterly unrestricted donations.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Provide regular reports on the progress of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
- Assist in analyzing data to improve future campaigns and strategies.
