Manager of Individual and Major Giving

Position Summary: The Manager of Individual and Major Giving is responsible for building and stewarding a strong individual donor pipeline, cultivating mid-level and major donors, managing planned giving strategies and contributing to the success of the organization’s capital campaign. Reporting to the Vice President of Development & Communications, this role is a key member of a collaborative team of six development and communications professionals.

Key Responsibilities: Individual Giving (50%)
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level and major gift donors and prospects.
- Develop individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Partner with marketing/communications on donor-centered messaging.
- Work with team members to ensure accurate donor records in Raisers Edge.
Capital Campaign Support (30%)
- Manage a portfolio for the capital campaign.
- Prepare campaign proposals and gift agreements.
- Track campaign commitments in Raisers Edge.
- Participate in campaign committee meetings.
Planned Giving (10%)
- Lead development and implementation of a planned giving program.
- Create and deliver educational content for donors.
- Maintain confidential documentation of planned gift commitments.
- Cultivate relationships with legal and financial advisors.
Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)
- Collaborate with events, grants, marketing, volunteer engagement, corporate partnerships, and database teams.
- Maintain organized records in Raisers Edge.
- Participate in department planning and weekly team and monthly all-staff meetings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must effectively communicate with Board, staff, funders, donors and community contacts, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Attention to detail and compilation of reports.
Certification(s) / Degree(s) Required:
A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field is required.
A master’s degree in a related field is preferred. CFRE certification is a plus.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the Vice President of Development & Communications. This position also works closely with the CEO, Finance team, Special Events Manager, Volunteer and Stewardship Coordinator, Grants and Marketing teams, Vice President of Programs and Vice President of Operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Ability to access multiple levels of the agency’s building.
• When required, be responsible for the client's physical safety.

• Possible exposure to childhood diseases.
• Typical office environments and conditions with the ability to utilize a flexible schedule.
• Strict confidentiality related to Board issues and donors to The Children’s Place.
• Minimal exposure to the sensitive subject matter of client information.
• Minimal travel.
• Therapy Dog onsite
• Evening/weekend hours required on occasion. - 16 hours per month to work from home after one year of employment with The Children’s Place
