The Gordon Parks Elementary School Board of Directors seeks an experienced leader to fully embrace the charter school’s mission and serve as their next Executive Director.

The Qualifications 

To be considered for the position, candidates must fully embrace the charter school’s mission, vision, and core values.  Specifically, the Board of Directors is searching for a candidate who possesses the following characteristics: 

• An equity-minded and transformational leader committed to a growth mindset  

• Ability to understand, appreciate, and embrace the GPES community’s strengths and challenges  

• High emotional intelligence and relational ability to appropriately engage all stakeholders  

• A commitment to data-informed decision making 

• Effective and articulate communication skills as the public face of GPES 

• Experience with large-scale fundraising and donor engagement 

• Financial acumen focused on fiscal and capital sustainability  

• Demonstrated ability to build a strategic plan to enhance and implement the schools core mission 

• An understanding of public charter school operations, policy, law, and regulations 

• Ability to navigate the political landscape impacting GPES 

Salary:  Minimum $125,000, negotiable based on experience
