JOB TITLE: Financial Literacy Youth Coach
REPORTS TO: Youth Journeys Coordinator
STATUS: Part time
Description
Front Porch Alliance works together with Kansas City’s Eastside children and families to meet their changing needs at home and in school. Our youth programs are centered on financial literacy, job readiness, tutoring, social-emotional health, and STEAM.
Responsibilities
- Execute the curriculum of Financial Literacy courses during the school year.
- Recruit program participants.
- Build relationships with local professional for guest speakers and field trips.
- Coordinate and facilitate guest speakers and field trips.
- Act as teacher/coach to program participants of multiple classes.
- Complete data tracking to include managing petty cash and ensure attendance records are accurate.
- Build relationships with local schools and organizations.
- Support other youth programming in the summer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience working with children 7th to 12th grade. In school instruction not required but a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience teaching is strongly preferred.
- Experience teaching STEAM curriculum. Preferred experience with Financial literacy, Math or science.
- Experience working in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work well as a team and with diverse communities.
- Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven written and verbal communication.
- Commitment to the mission of Front Porch Alliance.
Hours Part-time, 20-hours a week. Schedule will be dependent on school and organization partners, as well as coach availability. Anticipate in-school and after school hours.
Compensation Salary range: $19-22.00 and hour
