OrganizationOverview: Englewood Arts is a dynamic non-profit organization located in western Independence,Missouri. Our mission focuses on two key areas: a vibrant community arts center that provideseducation, performances, and resident artist programs, and a housing initiative that supports affordable and sustainable housing, including the development of tiny homes, ADUs, andcottage communities. Englewood Arts partners with banks and credit unions to connectindividuals to CRA loans and actively works on zoning changes to foster community growth.
Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead and oversee the organization's dual focus on arts and community development. This role will be responsible fordriving the organization's mission, ensuring financial sustainability, and strengtheningrelationships with community stakeholders, donors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
Provide strategic direction for both the arts and housing initiatives.
Work closely with the Board of Directors and seven committees (Artist,Operations, Fundraising, Housing, Marketing, Finance, Community) to achieveorganizational goals.
Develop and implement plans to advance Englewood Arts' mission and vision.
Operations & Program Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the arts center, including programming in glassblowing, painting, fiber arts, metal, and woodwork.
Manage the resident artist program and community arts dasses.
Lead efforts to connect individuals with affordable housing through CRA loanpartnerships and zoning initatives for new housing models.
Fundraising & Development:
Assist and advise the director of development in fundraising efforts includinggrant writing, donor cultivation, and community engagement.
Ensure financial stability by managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting, and working with the Finance Committee on fiscal planning.
CommunityEngagement:
Foster relationships with local community leaders, partner organizations, andgovernment officials.
Serve as the public face of Englewood Arts, representing the organization in the media, at events, and in all public relations efforts.
Staff & Committee Oversight:
Lead and manage staff and volunteers across the arts center and housinginitiatives.
Coordinate with the seven committees to ensure alignment with organizationalgoals and progress on initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, or artsadministration.
Strong understanding of financial management, fundraising, and grant writing.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
Experience with affordable housing or workforce housing development is a plus.
A passion for the arts and community engagement.
