The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City (BRTKC) is proud to announce a national search for its first-ever Executive Director. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a visionary, equity-driven leader to help shape the future of a growing cultural institution dedicated to celebrating and elevating Black voices through transformative storytelling, performance, and community engagement.
As BRTKC’s inaugural Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in building and guiding the organization’s infrastructure, strategy, and sustainability. In close collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors, you will lead the theatre’s strategic planning, fundraising, operations, and public presence ensuring that BRTKC continues to grow as a hub for Black artistic expression and cultural leadership in the Kansas City region and beyond.
This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with demonstrated success in nonprofit or arts leadership, a deep understanding of culturally rooted storytelling, and a passion for organizational development. You will have the opportunity to build systems, shape a supportive team culture, and champion a mission that centers equity, excellence, and impact.
This full-time, hybrid role offers a salary range of $50,000–$60,000, along with health benefits, paid time off, professional development support, flexible scheduling, and relocation assistance for non-local candidates.
