Contract Grants Administrator

Futureful seeks a contractor to perform administrative tasks related to grant writing for up to 20 hours per week. Compensation range is $20-30 per hour based on experience. Scheduling is flexible and hours may vary from 10-20 weekly. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-person work in the Lawrence and/or Kansas City area. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, self-starters, flexible, have nonprofit experience, familiarity with grants or fundraising, good attention to detail, strong computer skills, and strong communication skills. This position offers good potential to evolve into grant writing as skills are developed.
 
Futureful is a grant writing and nonprofit health consulting firm serving small to mid-sized nonprofits in the Kansas City metropolitan area and surrounding region. The company’s mission is to increase nonprofit success through excellent resource development and organizational health practices. Clients include nonprofits in the health, housing, arts and culture, agriculture, and social services sectors. Futureful is women-owned and has a positive, collaborative, team environment. 

Some of the regular tasks for this position include:

  • Manage and organize electronic files and backup data
  • Make phone calls/customer service
  • Schedule appointments and meetings and maintain project calendar
  • Data entry (Airtable, online portals, etc.) and analysis
  • Create grant templates and fill in basic client information
  • Create logins for grant portals
  • Create and send client proposals
  • Draft, edit, proofread and mail/email communication
  • General internet research (demographics & statistics, census data)

Required Skills:

  • Equivalent of two years administrative assistant experience
  • Strong task management and organizational skills
  • Google Workplace: Google Docs & Sheets, Calendar, other Google Apps
  • Adobe Pro
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal communication/social skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Confident and comfortable using multiple methods of communication (phone, email, videoconference, text, snail mail)
  • Equivalent writing/communication skills of associates degree
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve, and accept feedback
  • Intermediate level nonprofit experience
  • Grant writing or familiarity with grants
