Position Summary
The Director of Community Engagement is responsible for advancing Liberty LiveWell Foundation's presence and impact in the Liberty community while leading the planning and execution of the Foundation's signature fundraising events. Working in close partnership with the Administrator, the Director develops and drives programs that create meaningful community wellness impact across the Liberty Hospital community, serving as a primary bridge between the Foundation, the Liberty community, and the University of Kansas Health System Liberty Hospital.The Director owns the full event lifecycle for the Foundation's two major fundraising events, the RUN Liberty races and Twilight at the TreeHouse, and leads community outreach initiatives that advance the Foundation's health and wellness impact.
Essential Functions
- Lead operational execution of the RUN Liberty Half Marathon & 5K races, managing all logistics, volunteer coordination, course operations, sponsorship fulfillment, and post-event reporting in coordination with the race management company.
- Lead planning and execution of the Twilight at the TreeHouse gala, including venue coordination, auction management, donor stewardship, and event-night operations.
- Support the development and growth of the Foundation's community wellness programs and initiatives, identifying opportunities to expand health and wellness impact across the Liberty Hospital community.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies that build the Foundation's visibility and relationships across Liberty, including with civic organizations, local businesses, faith communities, schools, and community leaders.
- Help represent the Foundation at local events, meetings, and civic engagements, deepening the Foundation's presence in the communities it serves.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the community, including with the University of Kansas Health System Liberty Hospital, supporting the Foundation's role as a community partner in the health system's Liberty-area mission.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment and management for Foundation events.
- Serve on event related committees and represent the Foundation in event planning capacities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of experience in nonprofit development, community relations, event management, or a related role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office and event management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale fundraising events, including road races or half marathon execution.
- Familiarity with the Liberty or Clay County nonprofit and civic landscape.
- Experience with volunteer and donor management and cultivation.
Salary & Benefits
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Liberty LiveWell Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays.Apply
