Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000

 
Work Schedule: The typical work week is forty (40) hours. During periods of high activity (i.e., during OBR deployments and events), the position may require working during evenings and weekends. This position requires travel. Throughout the year, you can be required to travel for up to 14 consecutive days. Travel is a mandatory requirement of having this position.
 
Position Summary: The Director of MARCOM oversees and manages the Communication and Marketing of the OBR Brand. They are responsible for the flow of communication and information between the company and the public. This position works to ensure the organization maintains a positive image by overseeing and approving any company information or announcements before they’re released to the public. They oversee all forms of media; including press releases, digital campaigns, print materials, social media, audio, and video, ensuring they meet OBR Brand Standards and are responsible for developing the OBR Marketing Strategy with input from stakeholders. 
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Integrate all aspects of the OBR WAY into your day-to-day operations, mentoring and developing your department on the OBR WAY. 
  • Supervise up to 5 personnel as a director.
  • Manage vendors and 3rd party contractors that provide services.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
 
Essential Functions: 
  • Oversee and manage the Marketing and Communication of the OBR Brand through a variety of platforms, including but not limited to print, tv, streaming, online, social media, video, audio, radio, traditional, non-traditional, and must be willing to learn new platforms introduced to the marketplace.
  • Oversee and Conduct C-suite communication training and preparation to ensure standardization of message in accordance with MARCOM standards. 
  • Hire and/or implement third party vendors to facilitate Public Relations, Messaging, Training while managing cost and budget & utilizing data to ensure efficacy of training. 
  • Oversee and manage all social media platforms and other web-based tools to use in the promotion of OBR and OBR Business.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to develop a 24-month OBR Marketing vision and strategy with a 12-month plan to be reviewed annually NLT 1 March, submitting to c-suite for review and approval.
  • Analyze target market information to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches.
  • Maintain current knowledge of online marketing opportunities and trends, web analytics, and SEO techniques.
  • Work with Stakeholders to develop innovative strategies to attract supporters, donors, sponsors, volunteers, charitable beneficiaries to the company’s brand through various web-based marketing programs and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.
  • Organize training sessions and otherwise ensure key OBR personnel are properly trained for external media and PR communications. 
  • Oversee and manage Brand Standardization of all company materials, ensuring consistent, positive messaging and branding.
  • Review and update (as needed) the OBR Brand Standard on an annual basis, complete NLT 1 March annually, submitting to C-suite for approval and companywide dissemination.
  • Develop OBR Media List, developing relationships with media outlets and other companies, establishing positive and meaningful networks to grow the company.
  • Identify new market segments that can assist with OBR’s Charitable mission.
  • Direct and implement the organization’s advertising and promotional activities.
  • Prepare effective advertising campaigns based on market research.
  • Oversee the implementation of online marketing plans, compiling and analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of such plans.
  • Identify and recommend improvements and modifications to existing communications activities and additional or new marketing strategies and opportunities.
  • Collaborate and coordinate communication with OBR departments to complete marketing and communication projects.
  • Forecast, draft, implement, and oversee the department’s operating budget.
  • Complete all administrative duties as assigned or requested including, but not limited to, HR paperwork, training, expense reporting, evaluations, exercises, and so forth.
  • Work with supervisor to complete employee evaluations as assigned.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major concentration in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, English or a related field. 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Relevant experience or training, which may be demonstrated via degree or certificate, completion of an apprenticeship, or other experience necessary to become trained as a highly skilled communications professional
  • Business background with nonprofit experience preferred.
 
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
 
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
