AcruxKC (www.AcruxKC.org), a 501(c)3 public charity, operates education, grantmaking and healthcare access programs that contribute to the health and quality-of-life of individuals across the bi-state Kansas City region. AcruxKC’s flagship program, AccessKC (www.AccessKC.org), promotes health equity by eliminating barriers to basic health needs for area residents with low incomes so they have access to products and services that enable them to enjoy better health and quality of life.
Position Summary
The AccessKC Business Development Manager will be a dynamic leader focused on driving transformative partnerships with health service providers and community organizations. This role calls for a strategic thinker who excels in business development, campaign management, and stakeholder engagement to enhance our program's reach and impact. The ideal candidate will develop innovative strategies, establish key partnerships, and utilize data-driven insights to refine our initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth and community well-being.
Role Objectives
- Strategic Growth: Identify, connect, and secure new collaborations with health service providers and community organizations to enhance program offerings and outreach.
- Operational Efficiency: Optimize internal and relationship management processes to improve program delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Enhance Engagement: Implement strategies to boost partner satisfaction, retention, and active participation in our initiatives.
- Innovate Solutions: Develop and implement innovative approaches to improve program effectiveness and community impact.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage data insights to inform strategy, track performance, and refine approaches for greater impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a small non-profit agency, staff may take on many tasks. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Strategize for Impact: Design and implement recruitment and other strategies that align with AccessKC’s operations and long-term goals to amplify the program’s effectiveness and community engagement.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze program data to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and expansion.
- Partnership Cultivation: Develop and execute strategies for cultivating and onboarding health service providers.
- Communication & Follow-Up: Maintain regular, proactive communication with partners to ensure high engagement levels and satisfaction.
- Impact Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on program performance and strategic outcomes to stakeholders and funders.
- Community Representation: Represent AccessKC to education institutions and at meetings, task forces, health fairs, and community events, promoting the program and fostering partnerships. Expand individual and organizational knowledge about AccessKC Services. Embodies AccessKC’s values and commitment to learning and evolving according to these values.
Qualifications & Characteristics
- Education and Experience: BA/BS in business, communications, marketing, or human services (or 3-4 years in a relevant role. Experience in business development, campaigns, fundraising, and account management is preferred.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with superior interpersonal skills for maintaining strong relationships and partnerships.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects and professional relationships at various stages, with experience in navigating ambiguity to set priorities and achieve objectives.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Proactive mindset with the ability to balance short- and long-term goals, take initiative, and contribute to discussions on operations and strategy.
- Learning and Adaptability: Ability to learn independently, try new approaches, and apply innovative thinking to position the organization for success.
- Additional: Views differences between individuals (race, gender, age, cultural heritage, physical ability, education, beliefs, and lifestyle) as an asset and demonstrates appreciation for diversity. Bilingual/Spanish speaking a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF software, and Monday.com required. Must have own vehicle, valid KS or MO Driver's License, current insurance, clean driving record. Work Environment
- This position is based in AcruxKC’s fully accessible office, with some flexibility to work remotely (reliable home internet service is essential)
- This role uses standard office equipment; the position is required to talk, hear, stand, and walk, and to handle, feel and reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds
- Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as regular travel in the Kansas City region
- Workplace is a smoke- and drug-free environment
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; flexibility for meetings and events required
- The salary for this full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is up to $50,000; AccessKC offers a competitive benefits package
