Position Summary:

The Aging Operations Scheduler is the primary scheduler for JFS older adult transportation (Jet Express) and home maintenance (Help@Home) programs, ensuring participants have timely access to crucial support that allows them to age in the community.  Additionally, this position will be cross-trained in agency intake coordination, connecting prospective clients to JFS services and community resources. 

Essential Duties:

  • Schedule and manage appointments for both Help@Home (home maintenance) and Jet Express (transportation) programs under the oversight of the Aging Operations Manager                                                                                   
  • Answer a high volume of incoming calls and effectively respond to callers' needs for services. 
  • Collect consistent demographic information from callers and input into client management databases. 

  • Communicate any changes in home maintenance or transportation appointments with clients. 

  • Accurately input data into client management databases  and scheduling platforms to provide staff with referral information that is accurate, appropriate and confidential.
  • Ensure courteous, prompt, and accurate responses to caller inquiries and requests and work within an internal triage system to prioritize calls based on urgency and program availability.
  • Serve as backup for intake coordination, assessing the needs of callers to determine eligibility and appropriateness for JFS services, under the oversight of the Director of Program Monitoring and Evaluation. 

  • Remain updated on JFS service offerings, eligibility, and availability.

 Essential Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • Two or more years of experience in non-profit social services, experience with older adults preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Experience in a customer service setting preferred, with the ability to empathetically understand client needs and respond accordingly                                                                                                                                               
  • Knowledge of social service resources in the Kansas City community.                                                                    
  • Experience working with high volume of incoming calls for services, preferred 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work supportively and collaboratively with program staff and management.

  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy related to data entry

  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize tasks and projects                                                                            
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with the following information technology: client management systems, scheduling platforms, phone systems                                                                                                          
  • Experience communicating with program participants from a diverse range of ages, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Bilingual preferred.

Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000
