Community Engagement Manager - Kansas City area

We are looking for a Community Engagement Manager to join our team in the Kansas City area. This position involves building and managing relationships with community partners. Position Summary
Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, Community Engagement Coordinator and other Connected Communities - Thriving Families team members, the Community Engagement Manager is responsible for engagement with community partner organizations, stakeholders, thought leaders,  parents and youth with lived expertise and other interested parties to ensure the MCC vision of Connected Communities-Thriving Families are reflected in the services, supports and resources for the community at large. This position will include facilitating/attending community convenings, community presentations, coordination of implementation of community identified priorities and developing/cultivating community relationships.
 
The ideal candidate is a high performing and motivated individual who has a passion for helping support prevention and early intervention strategies to ensure child, family and community well-being as an alternative approach to removing children from their home. The ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with the community, providing public presentations, is highly organized with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, and guide the implementation of CC-TF community priorities.
 
Essential Responsibilities

Outreach and Engagement:

  • Cultivate and promote positive relationships with community stakeholders, parents and youth.
  • Facilitate Connected Communities-Thriving Families community convenings (in-person and online) with support from Chief Strategy Officer and other Connected Communities-Thriving Families team members.
  • Engage in outreach and communication with MCC partner organizations to coordinate convenings and distribution of materials, ensuring timely communication of information and materials.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with MCC member organizations, community partners and stakeholders.
  • Conduct various surveys and listening sessions to engage community stakeholders, parents and youth in the Connected Communities-Thriving Families initiative.
Collaboration:
  • Support the Community Engagement Associate in the recruitment and support of the Youth Congress in the Kansas City Area.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, tact and diplomacy while representing MCC in meetings, through written correspondence and other official roles.
  • Support engagement and activities of Parent Ambassador activities in Kansas City Area.
Reporting:
  • Prepare various report summaries and action steps of Connected Communities-Thriving community convenings in the Kansas City Area
  • Contribute to grant reports and updates.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of community resources, social service providers and trends in the child welfare/child       well-being field.
  • Commitment to relationship management.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to convene and attend functions/activities outside normal business hours.
  • Preference to individuals with lived expertise.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
