Connections to Success (CtS) is seeking a full-time Crisis Care and Access Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Crisis Care and Access Specialist will provide immediate support, intervention, and referral services to individuals experiencing a crisis or not fully ready to commit to the full program services at CtS. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment skills, crisis management experience, and a commitment to helping individuals navigate through challenging situations to ensure their safety and well-being. The Crisis Care and Access Specialist will be based in our Kansas City, Kansas location though may work at other locations throughout the Kansas City metro as needed.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals in crisis to determine their status, risk level, and immediate needs. Develop personalized intervention plans and provide appropriate referrals.
- Case Management: Collaborate with participants to create personalized intervention plans. Coordinate with healthcare providers, social services, and other support systems to ensure comprehensive care and follow-up.
- Support & Coaching: Offer emotional support and coaching to individuals and their families. Empower participants with coping strategies and resources.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of all interventions, assessments, and follow-ups in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Education: Provide training and support to other staff, community members, and stakeholders on crisis intervention techniques and awareness.
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in crisis intervention, coaching, or a related field.
- Strong assessment skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Proficiency in crisis de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with community resources and services.
- Excellent complex relationship management skills - ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Strong servant leadership skills
- Positive, “Can Do” attitude and sense of urgency; able to take initiative
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resilience.

- Reports to: Project Coordinator
- Internal Relationships: All Staff, Volunteers, Mentors, Participants
- External Relationships: Referring Agencies, Potential Participants, Potential Volunteers, Potential Mentors, Prospective Employers, Guest Speakers, Partner Organizations
Additional Information: This position is full-time, salaried exempt position. Employee will be eligible for full benefits including health, retirement, and vacation benefits on the first of the month following hire date. Starting Salary Range: $39,000 – $42,461 contingent on qualifications and experience
