MLM seeks an outgoing, passionate individual to serve in the role of Northland Client Services Manager at our Northland Food Pantry center in KC North. 


Job Title:         Northland Manager
 
Reports to:      Client Services Manager
 
Status:             Part-Time or Fulltime
 
Job Definition: 
Provides assistance to those experiencing poverty and/or poverty-related crises.  Provides advocacy service with, and for, people in need of assistance.  Provides counseling, needs assessment, general information, and referral services.  Grows and develops MLM’s network and support in the Northland Community.
 

Job Qualifications

Education:        Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
 
Experience:      Three to five years experience (employed or volunteer) in a social service setting and experience in working with emergency assistance networks and resources. 
 
Skills:               Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds and persons in crisis.  Cultural sensitivity and competency.  Ability to work in fast-paced environment, excellent organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
Other:               Current KS/MO driver’s license (must submit to driving record and criminal background check).
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Provides daily client service in the Emergency Assistance and Advocacy Center.
  • Supervises and trains volunteers, community service workers and trainees.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with other social service providers.
  • Seeks in-kind donations from churches, individuals, local businesses, and others.
  • Coordinates distribution of food, funds, volunteers, etc.
  • Processes utility/rent assistance.
  • Upholds confidentially and enters appropriate data into HMIS MAACLink system.
  • Generates monthly reports.
  • Advocates for families with utility companies and landlords.
  • Provides counseling, casework and Information/referral services for families in crisis.
  • Maintain clean and safe equipment/environment.
  • Operate within the compliance of MLM funders and Harvesters guidelines for agencies
  • Follows-up contact with client to ensure continuity of care and successful aftercare.
  • Requires ability to lift and carry cases of food.
  • Maintain current driver’s license and insurance
  • Represent and promote MLM to the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain regular/consistent attendance and punctuality in accordance with MLM’s Employee Handbook and provide adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with MLM’s Employee Handbook.
  • Networks with community to increase awareness of MLM programs and financial and in-kind support.
  • Other duties as assigned
