Camp Quality’s mission is to serve children with cancer and their families by providing year-round programs, experiences, and companionship, at no cost. At Camp Quality (CQ) children find hope and inspiration while developing life skills to develop to their full potential. We create an environment where kids with cancer can be kids again.
CQ USA was founding in 1986 from the belief that, "No one can do anything about the quantity of one's life, but all of us can do something about the quality.” Today, there are 18 camps across the USA including five camps in KS and MO.
At camp children 4-17 years old are paired with trained volunteers to meet their individual physical and emotional needs. Many volunteers are childhood cancer survivors and attended CQ. As cancer survivors and alumni, they develop a unique bond with the children through their share experiences and give children hope for the future.
We provide on-site medical care at camp through generous medical professionals along with on-call doctors. With children’s safety and medical needs addressed, CQ breaks down the medical barriers for children to restore their childhood experience.
Our goal is for children to bring home more than dirty laundry. They bring home tales of accomplishing feats that they believed were unattainable. They come home more confident and less anxious about their illness.
