Free Legal Clinic for Nonprofits
On Thursday, June 11, UMKC Law School will host a free, in-person legal clinic to assist local nonprofits with assessing their legal health. This event has been planned in coordination with the Mid-America Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Koch, Stinson LLP, Terracon, and Kansas Legal Services.
Kansas City and Wichita-area nonprofits are invited to apply for an assessment of their legal health in areas such as:

Advocacy, Lobbying & Political Campaign Activities
Contracts

Corporate Governance/Board Composition & Onboarding
Data Privacy & Security

Finances & Fiscal Management
and others!

TO APPLY

Interested nonprofits should apply to participate in the clinic by Wednesday, April 22. UMKC Clinical Professor Danielle Merrick will review client applications and follow up as needed to clarify discussion needs.
Applications will be screened for conflicts of interest. Due to staffing constraints, it is possible that not all applicants will be selected to participate in the clinic. Priority will be given to nonprofits serving low-income clients.

Nonprofits will be notified by late May whether or not they have been selected to participate. All applicants should hold the morning of June 11th to ensure they are able to participate if selected.
Selected clients and attorneys will sign an engagement letter in advance.
