Little Learners, Big World: Celebrating Diversity from the Very Start

Dear Friend -

At the earliest stages of life, children are forming their understanding of the world - and their place within it. When we intentionally celebrate multicultural diversity in early childhood, we help Little Learners see that differences in language, traditions, and experiences are not only to be respected, but embraced. These moments shape empathy, curiosity, and a deep sense of belonging that will guide them for a lifetime.

At EarlystART, we're all about creating environments where every child’s culture is reflected and honored, where we affirm their identity while also opening doors to new perspectives. In this way, we're building stronger classrooms, stronger communities, and ultimately, a more compassionate and connected society.

When children learn to value one another from the very beginning, they carry those lessons forward in powerful ways.

Thank you for being part of our EarlystART community and sharing in the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated!

Gratefully,

June McDaniel, CEO

P.S. Check out our fun pics from our recent Multi-Cultural Celebration in which our students and families experienced traditions, foods, music, and stories from both their own communities and around the world in a hands-on, joyful way.

Appreciating our Volunteers in April...and Always!

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month but at EarlystART, our gratitude flows year-round!

Our wonderful Volunteers are the quiet force behind so many student successes. Through their time, care, and unwavering commitment, they show up in ways that truly matter - offering encouragement, stability, and belief in every child’s potential. Because of them, our students don’t just learn - they blossom and begin to see what’s possible for their futures. From everyone at EarlystART, we share our warmest love and appeciation for the heart and dedication they bring to our mission every single day!

Meet Miss Aliya Cowlings, Teacher of the Month

Miss Aliyah is the Lead Teacher in The Discoverers classroom...and so much more. She's a steady source of encouragement, creativity, and care in the lives of her toddler students. Through patience, passion, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential, Miss Aliyah's creative spirit drives her engaging lesson plans that focus on the students' interests.

Classroom Spotlight: The Discoverers

Miss Aliyah and her team of Addison Gish, Amy Case, and Marlie Escoto work together in The Discovers classroom to create a joyful, nurturing space where curiosity is sparked, confidence is built, and every child is known and loved.  Recently, the team developed a fun and engaging Animal Project that will culminate in horse rides for the students. We're grateful to these dedicated educators for creating such a warm, inspiring environment where our students truly thrive.

Wonder and Curiosity Lead the Way at EarlystART

Little Learners, Limitless Adventures! The past few weeks have presented unique opportunities for our students to learn, grow and experience!  Our Project Construct curriculum turns the classroom into a place where curiosity runs the show and “what if?” is always a great place to start.

Our students are encouraged to explore, to create, and to solve problems in ways that feel like play - but build real understanding. It’s hands-on, minds-on learning that sparks discovery, deepens thinking, and makes every day an enriching adventure. This month's lessons included a visit to the PNC Gallery at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, lessons in making sushi and mosiacs, and units on  hair and the history of the Black rodeo.
