Moving from an individual contributor to managing a team requires a shift in thinking. Not only are you responsible for completing your own tasks, you're also accountable for the performance of those you lead. If you're ready to take the next step in your nonprofit career (or shift from the for-profit sector into nonprofit work), this interactive workshop will help you sharpen your supervisory skills before diving into the deep end. 

Join Nonprofit Connect for an interactive look at what skills are most in demand for supervisors today based on data from our job board. Participants will have the opportunity to assess their current skills, create a personal development plan, hear directly from human resource managers about what they look for when hiring and promoting, and discover challenges and advice from a panel of current nonprofit supervisors. During this hands-on workshop, you will:

  • Learn about the skills and competencies most required of nonprofit managers.
  • Reflect on current skills and develop a road map for how you can continue to grow and progress.
  • Hear directly from HR managers about what they look for when hiring and promoting supervisors. 
  • Engage with a panel of current managers for a candid conversation on what they wish they knew before jumping into the position, what skills have helped them the most, and what advice they would share with emerging leaders. 
This session is ideal for current or potential nonprofit employees who are looking to take the next step in their career by stepping into a management position.
