About Us

Arts in Prison uses the arts to inspire positive change in the incarcerated, to reduce recidivism, and to reconnect ex-offenders with their communities. Arts experiences are impactful. By bringing caring, nonjudgmental, trained volunteers into corrections facilities Arts in Prison offers humanity, personal growth, compassion and support to the incarcerated. Ninety-nine percent of everyone currently held in jails, detention centers, prisons and penitentiaries will be returned to our communities. Incarceration and reentry should be everyone's concern. These men and women will be our neighbors. Do you want them coming home with hate in their eyes or hope in their hearts?
