Crux for a Cause applications open for Kansas City-area nonprofits seeking pro bono marketing leadership and execution
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Applications are now open for the 2027 Crux for a Cause program, an annual initiative that provides one Kansas City-area nonprofit with $50,000 in pro bono marketing leadership and execution.
Through Crux for a Cause, selected organizations work alongside Crux’s fractional CMOs and connected team of marketing specialists to clarify priorities, strengthen their story and turn strategy into meaningful action. Support may include brand strategy, messaging, content, communications, digital marketing or another clearly defined marketing need, depending on the selected organization’s goals.
“Crux for a Cause is one of the clearest expressions of who we are as a team,” said Melea McRae-Hall, founder and CEO of Crux. “We care deeply about this community, and we believe strong marketing can help mission-driven organizations reach more people, build momentum and create greater impact. Our team brings the same strategic leadership, creative thinking and executional excellence to this work that we bring to every client engagement, because when a local nonprofit is ready to move its mission forward, we want to help them do it with clarity, confidence and purpose.”
Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31. Nonprofits interested in applying should be prepared to share where their organization is headed, what is standing in the way and what meaningful progress would look like with focused marketing support. Recent Crux for a Cause recipients include KC Girls Prep Academy and the Kansas City Public Library.
