Growth Ministries Expands Its Reach, Bringing Hope and Second Chances Beyond Prison Walls

Growth Ministries, Inc., an Olathe-based nonprofit dedicated to serving incarcerated individuals and returning citizens, continues to expand its impact through faith-based outreach, mentorship, education, and reentry support.

In September, Growth Ministries hosted a powerful revival at Lansing Correctional Facility, bringing together incarcerated men for an evening of worship, encouragement, and messages of hope. More than 50 men made decisions to follow Christ, and 19 were baptized, including three men in wheelchairs. One of the most meaningful responses from participants was a simple question: "When can we do this again?"

Growth Ministries is also expanding its outreach at the Johnson County Adult Residential Center in New Century, Kansas. Through Bible studies, recreational activities, personal encouragement, and relationship-building, volunteers are connecting with individuals navigating recovery, work release, and the challenges of reintegrating into society. These relationships often continue after individuals are released, providing ongoing support during a critical transition.

Looking ahead, Growth Ministries is exploring opportunities to participate in a broader community initiative focused on helping returning citizens successfully reintegrate into Kansas City's urban core. This potential collaboration would expand access to mentorship, employment preparation, life skills, and community resources.

Growth Ministries believes that a person's past does not have to determine their future. Through meaningful relationships, practical assistance, and spiritual encouragement, the organization is helping individuals discover hope, restoration, and new beginnings.

As its outreach grows, Growth Ministries welcomes volunteers, community partners, professional expertise, and financial support to help sustain and expand its programs.
