Board Chair (Chairman)

Position Summary
The Board Chair serves as the senior leader of the Board of Directors for Cyber Creationz Tech and plays a critical role in governance, strategic leadership, and organizational sustainability. The Chair partners closely with the CEO to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to educate, expose, and explore technology pathways for youth, adults, and seniors.
This role focuses on governance, oversight, and strategic direction rather than day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Board Leadership & Governance
Lead the Board of Directors and ensure effective governance practices are followed
Set meeting agendas in collaboration with the CEO
Preside over all board meetings and ensure productive, inclusive discussions
Ensure the board operates in compliance with bylaws, policies, and legal obligations
Strategic Oversight
Partner with the CEO to guide the organization’s long-term vision and strategy
Support strategic planning initiatives and monitor progress toward organizational goals
Ensure alignment between programs, finances, and mission
Executive Director Support & Accountability
Serve as a key thought partner and support system for the CEO
Lead the CEO evaluation process in coordination with the board
Provide guidance, feedback, and accountability while respecting operational boundaries
Financial Oversight & Sustainability
Work with the board and finance leadership to ensure financial health and transparency
Support fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and grant opportunities
Advocate for responsible stewardship of resources
Board Development & Engagement
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining diverse and skilled board members
Encourage active participation and accountability among board members
Help cultivate a positive, mission-driven board culture
External Relations & Advocacy
Serve as an ambassador for Cyber Creationz Tech within the community
Support partnerships with schools, corporations, foundations, and civic organizations
Represent the organization at key events when appropriate
Time Commitment
Attend and lead scheduled board meetings once a month
Participate in periodic check-ins with the CEO
Engage in strategic planning, fundraising efforts, and special initiatives as needed
Estimated commitment: 5–10 hours per month
Desired Skills & Qualities
Strong leadership and facilitation skills
Experience in nonprofit governance, business, education, or community leadership
Strategic thinker with a commitment to equity and access in technology education
Ability to collaborate, listen, and lead with integrity
Term Length
Term length as defined by Cyber Creationz Tech bylaws
Eligible for renewal per board policy
