Volunteer Coordinator and Development Administrator
The Volunteer Coordinator and Development Administrator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating volunteer activities in addition to administrative support of the Development team. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, supervising and retaining volunteers to support Community LINC’s mission. They work closely with various departments to assess volunteer needs, develop volunteer roles and ensure that volunteers are adequately trained and supported. In addition to volunteer coordination, this role supports the Development team through a range of administrative functions, assisting with grant management, gift processing, and daily operations.
1. Volunteer Management
- Provide management and support for Community LINC’s volunteers
- Serve as primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries, concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate and direct volunteers through various volunteer activities
- Continuous stewardship of volunteers to keep them informed about upcoming opportunities, events and organizational updates
- Maintain a database of current and potential volunteers
2. Volunteer Program Expansion
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers through various channels, including online platforms, phone calls, emails, community events and partnerships
- Energize and build relationships with volunteers for further engagement
- Prospect potential volunteers; individuals and organizations
- Grow volunteer program monetary support and sponsorships
- Evaluate volunteer programs and initiatives to measure impact and effectiveness
3. Development Administrative Responsibilities
- Daily administrative tasks related to fundraising and development
- Assist in creating donor profiles and maintaining donor records in CRM
- Support the grant application process by assisting with grant research, writing and reporting
- Assist with donor stewardship
- Assist in the planning, implementation and coordination of fundraising campaigns and events
- Assist with the development and distribution of marketing and promotion materials to support fundraising efforts Skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in nonprofit or related field preferred and/or minimum of two years’ experience working with nonprofit development
- Experience creating and managing development programs preferred
- Grant writing experience or knowledge of grants
- Critical and creative thinking
- Ability to devolve broad concepts into actionable steps
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change in both the internal and external environment
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong partnerships, relationships and collaborations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of volunteers and staff
Additional Information:
- This position may require some evening and weekend hours, depending on Community LINC’s needs and volunteer activities
- Occasional local travel may be required for community outreach or volunteer recruitment events
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
