Director of Youth Engagement
The Director of Youth Engagement will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of all youth engagement initiatives in alignment with SevenDays’ mission. This part-time role (anticipated to be approximately 20 hours/week) is responsible for supporting and advancing the work of the Kindness Youth Leadership Team (KYLT), cultivating youth leadership opportunities, managing program implementation, and building meaningful relationships with youth, families, schools, partners, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, equity, and community engagement.
Promote Kindness
- Integrate kindness, equity, and empathy into all youth programs and organizational practices.
- Lead youth-driven service projects and community campaigns that advance SevenDays’ mission.
- Elevate and share stories of youth impact with stakeholders, donors, and community partners.
Engage Youth
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, activities, and retreats for the Kindness Youth Leadership Team.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive youth engagement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Mentor, coach, and empower youth leaders through meaningful leadership opportunities.
- Recruit, engage, and retain a diverse group of youth participants.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and local leaders.
- Represent SevenDays at community events, speaking engagements, and youth-focused forums.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate youth voice into organizational planning and programs.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers supporting youth initiatives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of youth leadership programs.
- Establish and track measurable outcomes to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Develop youth-focused communications, including social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Manage program budgets, support grant-related efforts, and maintain accurate program records.
- Ensure all youth programming adheres to best practices, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, Youth Development, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth engagement, leadership development, or community organizing—preferably in a nonprofit or education setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse youth populations.
- Strong program design, project management, and evaluation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
- Experience leading youth councils, leadership teams, or service learning programs.
- Familiarity with social-emotional learning frameworks.
- Experience in fundraising, grant management, or volunteer coordination.
