Part Time Director of Youth Development
SevenDays is seeking a part time (≈20 hours/week) Director of Youth Development who brings warmth, structure, and presence to our work with teens. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or youth professional who loves teenagers, knows how to run a tight program, and believes deeply in kindness, empathy, and leadership development.
Our teens are strong, curious, and capable. They need an adult who can engage them, guide them, redirect them when necessary, keep things moving on time, and help them grow into confident leaders—while making it feel fun, purposeful, and safe.
This person will steward and strengthen our existing Kindness Youth Leadership Team (KYLT) and help prepare the program for potential expansion into other communities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and Care for the Kindness Youth Leadership Team

Plan, schedule, and facilitate regular KYLT meetings, workshops, and special events

Run meetings that are engaging, structured, and respectful of time

Set clear expectations for youth behavior, participation, and leadership

Coach teens through challenges, conflict, and course corrections when needed
-
Create a space where teens feel seen, safe, and motivated to lead
Program Management and Organization

Develop clear agendas, calendars, and timelines for youth programming

Ensure smooth logistics for meetings, service projects, and retreats
-
Maintain accurate records, schedules, and participation tracking

Follow organizational policies related to youth safety and best practices

Manage program budgets in collaboration with SevenDays staff
Communication and Representation

Communicate confidently and professionally with parents, educators, board members, and community partners

Serve as a strong public representative of SevenDays at youth events, schools, and community gatherings

Support youth in public speaking, presentations, and leadership roles

Share youth stories and program highlights with staff and stakeholders
Vision and Growth

Sustain the quality and spirit of the current KYLT program

Contribute ideas for future growth or replication of the program in other communities

Work collaboratively with SevenDays leadership and board to follow or help refine an organizational vision

Help document program structures and practices that support long-term expansion

Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or a related field
-
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working directly with teenagers (ages 14–18)

Strong facilitation, classroom, or group leadership experience

Excellent communication and organizational skills
-
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, deadlines, and multiple priorities

Commitment to SevenDays’ mission of kindness, empathy, and community impact
Strongly Preferred
-
Current or former high school educator
-
Experience leading youth leadership teams, councils, or service-learning programs
-
Experience with social-emotional learning or character education
-
Comfort guiding youth in public speaking and community engagement

Experience working with parents, schools, or school districts
Benefits: This position is a 1099 position and does not offer benefits.
Compensation: $20,000-$24,000/year
