Finance Manager

The Center of Grace Finance Manager manages the organization’s financial operations.  To ensure the financial health and sustainability of our mission-driven organization.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, as well as a deep understanding of compliance requirements and donor reporting standards. Responsible for developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures, preparing accurate financial statements, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Finance Manager works closely with the executive team, Board members, program coordinators, and the development team to align financial planning with organizational goals.
 
Key responsibilities include managing the annual budgeting process, monitoring cash flow, preparing grant budgets and financial reports, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The Finance Manager will also be expected to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.  Experience with QuickBooks is required, and experience with Bloomerang, Pushpay, or Qgiv will be a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting,
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations
  • Oversee grant budgeting and financial reporting to funders
  • Process payroll and other financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Administer employee benefits 
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings
  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and risk management strategies
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships 
  • Support Board of Directors, program staff, and volunteers with budget tracking, financial analysis, problem-solving, and stewardship recommendations
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic planning
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
 
Requirements:
 
  • Heart for the mission of the Center of Grace
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience in nonprofit financial management
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and QuickBooks, and ability to learn other systems quickly
  • Experience with grant budgeting and reporting
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff and other stakeholders
Knowledge of federal and state nonprofit compliance requirements

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
