Youth Residential Overnight Care Staff
Position Description = Youth Residential Overnight Care Staff (the schedule for this position is 3-4 shifts a week 10pm – 6:00am, which may include weekend shifts)
Position Summary =
- The HOHKC Youth Residential Overnight Care Staff reports to the Residential Care Manager.
- This position requires a responsible individual with leadership qualities.
- They should excel in domestic custodial care.
- Custodial care will encompass supervision, guidance and discipline of adolescents residentially placed at House of Hope.
- The individual will demonstrate the ability to develop spiritual growth, lovingly correct attitudes, plan leisure time activities, and teach personal hygiene and basic living skills.
Primary Position Responsibilities =
- Models a Christ-like life in all areas of speech, conduct, worship and service.
- Consults house staff manual on regular basis for outlined house staff responsibilities and training.
- Oversees residents perform the duties of household chores and gives instruction as needed.
- Teaches residents basic life skills such as cooking, laundry, organization, time management and other daily activities.
- Lovingly nurtures the spiritual, emotional & physical growth of the residents.
- Has the willingness to spend quality time with the residents.
- Gives a listening ear and an understanding heart for each resident based on a knowledge and understanding of each residents’ history.
- Completes daily shift reports.
- Administers medications according to House of Hope policies and procedures.
- Confronts and disciplines in love and follows through with disciplines given during your shift.
- Attend monthly staff meetings & training.
- Discipleship: confronts in love, prayer, and has an understanding to be able to explain the rules of the program.
- Use every opportunity to teach and to make it practical for life lessons so the residents can continue to thrive in their healing journey.
Position Qualifications & Attributes =

- Familiarity with mental health challenges faced by teenagers

- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School diploma required, some college in human services or related field preferred.
