College & Career Specialist
Do you want to help educators connect students to industry professionals from their own school communities?
Do you have the skills and confidence to work closely with teachers, families, and community members to create new, meaningful opportunities for every student?
PREP-KC is seeking a College & Career Specialist to implement strategic initiatives that expand college and career pathways across our partner schools. In this role, you will co-design district-wide frameworks with school teams, strengthen school capacity, ensure students in urban schools have access to high-impact, real-world learning experiences, and actively coach staff to use volunteers and community partnerships effectively.
As a College & Career Specialist, you will:
- Co-create district and school-level frameworks to establish a K–12 continuum of college and career experiences.
- Build the capacity of teachers, administrators, and school teams to engage and manage volunteers and develop new partnerships with industry professionals.
- Collaborate closely with families and community members to expand student access to real-world learning opportunities.
- Co-facilitate discussions with school and district leaders to ensure student experiences align with postsecondary aspirations.
- Support consistency and quality across school partnerships and student experiences, ensuring equitable access for everyone.
- Work with College & Career Liaisons to strategically expand volunteer networks and community partnerships.
- Guide data collection, reporting, and analysis to measure program impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Contribute to co-designing and collaborating on initiatives that strengthen PREP-KC’s regional impact on college and career readiness.
- A relationship builder who seeks to create, foster, and maintain a network of key individuals to support college and career initiatives.
- Comfortable and experienced in working directly with teachers, school staff, families, and community members.
- Skilled at collaboration, co-design, and facilitation over unilateral leadership.
- Able to coach educators and school teams to take ownership of student opportunities and volunteer engagement.
- Experienced in managing multiple priorities, projects, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in program strategy, community engagement, volunteer management, or educational leadership.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM/data platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Access to reliable transportation is a must.
