Volunteer as a Judge at Kansas City Invention Convention!
Are you passionate about supporting STEM initiatives for Kansas City youth? Sign up to volunteer at KCIC 2026 and become part of Kansas City’s invention community!
At KCIC, our student inventors develop creative solutions to real-world problems— some of which may impact your own life! We welcome judges from all walks of life to help evaluate these inspiring innovations.
Whether you’re a STEM professional, tradesperson, marketer, intellectual property expert, parent, educator, or simply a community member passionate about mentoring youth, your perspective is valuable. You don’t need prior judging experience, just a willingness to support young inventors!
Competition day is Thursday, April 16th, with a time commitment of 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Judges will also have access to and be asked to review online training materials, which total about 20 minutes. Judge's breakfast will begin on competition day at 8:00 AM with training starting at 8:30 AM at Linda Hall Library. After training, we'll walk across the street to UMKC Swinney Recreation Center.
Breakfast and lunch provided with considerations for dietary restrictions.
